GOMBAK - A woman 'lost her patience' and is believed to have injured her son with a knife because he refused to help her with house chores at their house in Kampung Changkat Gombak here last Friday.
In the incident at about 11pm, the 12-year-old victim was injured in the hand and leg and ran away before being rescued by a neighbour who called the police.
It is understood that a team of police patrol unit (MPV) arrived at the location to check the child’s condition.
Selangor Police Chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said the police then arrested the victim's mother at about 1am on Saturday.
"Early interrogation revealed the woman admitted to scolding her son for not helping with chores.
"During the argument, the vegetable knife she was holding hit the child causing injuries to his hands and feet," he said today.
He said the victim was given treatment and received between four and five stitches.
He said the victim's mother was then remanded for two days starting January 6 to be investigated according to Section 324 of the Penal Code.
