CHELYABINSK, Russia - In the city of Chelyabinsk located in the west-central of Russia, what started as a lively gathering took a dangerous turn when a seemingly harmless prank went awry, resulting in serious injuries and potential legal consequences.
Russian media reported that group of youngsters threw a rowdy party and despite attempts from neighbours to diplomatically address the disturbance. Ignored, the neighbours took action by calling the police who issued an administrative report for violating noise regulations before departing.
The evening took an unexpected and perilous turn when one partygoer decided to play a prank by tossing a smoke bomb into the kitchen.
Unfortunately for the jokester, the intended target - who was also the host and owner of the apartment they were partying at, was in the midst of preparing a buckwheat snack on the stove.
The scene, which was recorded on camera, saw the prank's victim startled by the sudden commotion and had hastily exited the kitchen armed with a pot of boiling water.
She showed no remorse when she threw the pot of boiling water to one of the man in the crowd resulting in severe burns requiring immediate hospitalisation.
The videoclip saw him slip and fell a few times before running out of the door, as their male friends told her off.
The woman has been identified as 21-year old named Vika, while the alleged prankster was named as Danil and that the incident occured in an apartment on Professor Blagikh Street.
It was later revealed that Danil was not the culprit who carried out the joke and had decided not to press charges against her as he believed she "will be punished by god".
Vika was quoted by local media that she had already apologised by her behaviour.
The local police were now investigating the case with all party attendees were under scrutiny and that Vika could face potential criminal charges for her response to the prank.
This incident serves as a stark reminder that what may begin as some fun can quickly escalate into a perilous situation, causing harm and legal ramifications.
