SHAH ALAM – PKR Wanita vice-chief Sangetha Jayakumar was appointed as a member of the Port Klang Authority’s board of directors.
Wanita PKR chief Fadhlina Sidek informed this through a poster uploaded on Wanita PKR Facebook yesterday.
Through the poster, Fadhlina who is also the Education Minister congratulated Sangetha on the appointment.
"Congratulations. Another appreciation to Wanita PKR. Congratulations on your excellent work," the post read.
However, it was not shared when the appointment would take effect and for how long.
PKA is a statutory corporation established on 1 July 1963, to take over the administration of Port Klang from the Malayan Railway Administration.
The establishment was part of the policy to apply management and discipline of the private sector in various businesses controlled by the government in this country.
The appointment, however, also received criticism from a few parties because it was seen as a 'political appointment' in a government-run body.
