ALOR SETAR - Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor is confident the 'Dubai Move' will become a reality but refrains from disclosing its details.

He claimed that the current unity government leaders were afraid of their own shadows, as they were aware they were losing their grip on power.

He said the government's downfall would occur through parliamentary support shifts, actions that do not breach the Constitution or democratic practices.

"The process allowed by law can be carried out, but anything against the constitution cannot (be done). Expressing support is in line with the Constitution.

"There are things I cannot disclose, but it will happen, everyone believes it and they (the ruling government) believe their government is falling; they are currently in a panic," he said in a press conference after chairing the Exco meeting at Wisma Darul Aman today.

The Perikatan Nasional Election Commission Director-General said the weaknesses in the Anti-Hopping Law would lead to a power shift but still remain within the Constitution.

"When PN Members of Parliament support the government, no one objects. If supporting the unity government is depicted as a constitutional act based on democracy, then the opposite action is also considered normal.

"If they can take five PN’s MPs, we take 10 from them, it shouldn't cause anger. Supporting them is fine; not supporting them should also be fine.

"It is a regular democratic process and is allowed in the Constitution," he said.

Sanusi believed that the people were increasingly disheartened by the unity government's actions and were no longer containable.

"When we bring up this issue among the people, no one objects. Those worried are only those about to lose power.

"The people welcome it because they've witnessed 22 months of repeated episodes.

"Every day, there are issues that shouldn't happen, such as interference in Islamic affairs and pressure on those not aligned politically.

"It's more severe than during the 22-month government administration," he said.

He mentioned that the term 'Dubai Move' was just a name because it occurred earlier than the meeting said to have been held in Dubai.

"I don't think there's any move; it's not the Dubai Move, just the Chow Kit Move because discussions were held in Kuala Lumpur.

"I feel the Dubai Move is just a 'dummy' because the purpose of going there is just for leisure.

"There's no need to go to Dubai to discuss everything. The Sheraton Move before was not actually at Sheraton; it was just where they ate. It happened even earlier.

"Now, with the Dubai Move, those events have happened (even) before," he said.

When asked to comment on Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's statement that the unity government was unaffected by the Dubai Move, supposedly led by opposition leaders to overthrow the current government, Sanusi said he was not interested in revealing such matters, and the people just need to wait for it to happen.

"Indeed, those who are about to fall will say that; surely they are afraid of losing power.

"Things that will be lost will undoubtedly cause concern, and those we want to take are enjoyed.

"God willing, I am confident it will happen. The current government will not last five years; they will fall.

"I know when, but I can't say. It will happen through support transitions," he said.

Previously, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi confirmed receiving intelligence reports related to the Dubai Move as soon as several leaders associated with the movement arrived at the meeting place, including reports after the meeting ended.

He described the effort as a waste of time.

Sanusi also confirmed that it would happen and not just be a fabrication.

"Yes, it's true. Indeed, it exists. He (Ahmad Zahid) will not be long, (already) slightly nervous.

"It's not impossible; I am confident it will happen this year; if possible, this month or this week would be more exciting.

"We (the PN) are always trying, while they (the other party) always persevere.

"It's like playing football; we don't want to let them score alone; we want to score as well. When we score, don't be upset because they've scored first.

"Zahid said it's been a while (a breakthrough movement) and he is confident it won't penetrate because their ‘roof is concrete’, but it's not impossible because it follows democracy and constitutional processes," he added.
