SHAH ALAM - Water theme parks in Selangor are among the choices for parents to spend time with their children during this school holiday season.
One of the popular locations is WaterWorld I-City here, which is preferred for its attractions, including 'The Ultimate Tornado,' the first spiral water slide in Southeast Asia.
A visitor to the water theme park, Iskandar Shah Ismail, 41, said he chose this location because it is the most suitable place at the moment, compared to rivers or the sea due to unpredictable weather and safety factors.
Previously, he took his children to a beach in Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan, for recreation during school holidays, but switched to the theme park due to its proximity to his residence.
"Children really enjoy water activities, going to natural areas like rivers at the moment doesn't seem suitable given the unpredictable weather. So, I chose to bring my children here to fill our leisure time.
"Here is safer and more secure because there are lifeguards constantly monitoring our movements," he said when met by Bernama today.
Another visitor who wants to be known as Along, 38, from Ijok, near here, said that during this school holiday season, he took the opportunity to bring his children for a swim at the theme park.
"I haven't visited here for a long time because this location is usually crowded, especially during the weekends, causing me to avoid the crowds.
"However, my children requested to swim here, so I thought why not visit this time, besides it is also not far from home, and there is a discount on the tickets," said the father of three.
Meanwhile, for Nurul Hasanah Hashim, 32, she and her husband took the opportunity to visit the location because they were attracted by the variety of activities available there.
"We are from Johor and came here to attend a friend's wedding. Every time we come to the Klang Valley, the water theme park becomes a must-visit family destination because it provides various activities, but most importantly, the children are happy to play in the water.
"Besides, at least there is something the children can share with their friends about their school holiday activities," she said. - BERNAMA
