KLANG – Kuala Selangor Member of Parliament Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad obtained the highest number of votes in the Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) leadership committee election for the 2023-2026 session.
Dr Dzulkefly, who is also the party's Strategy Director, gained 900 votes.
The second highest vote was for former Shah Alam Member of Parliament Khalid Abdul Samad with 899 votes.
Shah Alam Member of Parliament Azli Yusof obtained 755 votes while Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu ranked eighth with 613 votes.
Earlier, 1,008 delegates voted online or e-voting to elect the speaker, deputy speaker and 27 Amanah leadership committees for the 2023-2026 session.
In total, a total of 98 candidates competed to fill the contested position.
After completing the selection of the 27 leadership committees, they would then choose the five highest positions of the party through discussion.
