KOTA BHARU - A woman was found dead after the Perodua Myvi she was driving crashed in front of a petrol station on Jalan Sultan Ibrahim here on Wednesday.
Kota Bharu District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Rosdi Daud said the police received a report related to the incident at 3.19pm.
"The preliminary investigation at the scene found that the car driven by the 70-year-old victim from the direction of Jalan Zainal Abidin headed towards Jalan Sultan Ibrahim had moved slowly without stopping at the intersection.
"At the time of the incident, the victim is believed to be unconscious and the car crashed towards the road divider," he said in a statement on Thursday.
Rosdi said initial investigation found that no element of crime was detected on the deceased.
He said the victim's body was sent to the Hospital Raja Perempuan Zainab II (HRPZ II) for an autopsy.
Rosdi said that the case was classified as sudden death and further investigations are still ongoing.
"People who have information about the incident are asked to come to the nearest police station to help with investigations," he said.
