SHAH ALAM - Economic Minister Rafizi Ramli invites anyone willing to challenge him to join the podcast show 'Yang Bakar Menteri (YBM),' expected to start on January 8.

According to the Pandan MP, the bi-weekly podcast welcomes all, including academics, government supporters, citizens, and opposition cyber activists.

He mentioned receiving various reactions after addressing online activist content.

Most expressed support, while a few felt a minister shouldn't engage.

"Two types argue ministers shouldn't speak out.

"First, those who think ministers must maintain their standards, and dealing with cyber attacks is for 'cyber troopers.'

"They seem largely fence-sitters.

"Secondly, the group is arguing 'that'ministers focus on ministerial duties,' as if providing enlightenment isn't a minister's task.

"In my observation, these arguments come from opposition cyberactivists.

"Overall, however, the majority of social media reactions support directly handling opposition propaganda," he stated via the X app today.

Last Friday, Rafizi, also the Deputy President of the People's Justice Party (PKR), challenged an influencer known as YB Viral for a direct debate to present facts to the public.

He noted that YB Viral, believed to support Perikatan Nasional (PN), misrepresented and lacked a genuine perspective on certain issues.

Further commenting, Rafizi aimed to unveil the true face of opposition cyber activists who avoid face-to-face debates and merely hide behind social media.

He added that the digital medium would be recorded at night without government involvement.

"Besides those willing to voluntarily participate to challenge ministers, I'll also seek opposition cyber activists who heavily propagate to come forward.

"I'll find them, invite them, and offer the chance for a direct interaction.

"They have the chance to challenge me, and I have the opportunity to challenge them," he said.
