PUTRAJAYA - In an effort to rally support for the upcoming Kemaman poll on Dec 2, PKR Youth chief Adam Adli encourages Terengganu residents to create a political 'bridge' connecting the state and the Federal Government."
Adam argued that it would benefit locals in Terengganu to have parliamentary representation aligned with the parties governing Putrajaya, as neither Pakatan Harapan (PH) nor Barisan Nasional (BN) has electoral representation there.
"The problem in Terengganu right now is that there is no 'bridge' between the state and the Federal government.
"We hope the people there would take this opportunity to create that bridge in Terengganu and solve the issue of having zero electoral representation from the Federal Government," he said at a press conference at PKR Youth annual congress, today.
Describing Terengganu as having been cleanly swept by Pas, Adam lamented that the absence of opposition in the state was worrying due to the lack of proper check and balance.
"There won't any major political issue to arise in Terengganu if the Kemaman parliamentary constituency were to be won by BN.
"There won't be any leadership changes at the state level because Pas has already established a stong footing there," he said.
The electoral bout in Kemaman will see Pas' Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar -- who is also the Menteri Besar of Terengganu -- going up against BN's General (Rtd) Tan Sri Raja Mohamed Affandi Raja Mohamed Noor.
