SHAH ALAM - "In a world buzzing with endless distractions and incessant chatter, stumbling upon a quiet moment for self-reflection is akin to finding a hidden gem," says Dr Aiesha Asmadi, a Medical Fitness Consultant and a two-time breast cancer survivor.
She spoke to Sinar Daily about her strategies for finding peace and solitude amid life's chaos.
Dr Aiesha revealed that the secret to conquering her worst days often involves diverting her focus toward activities that fill her with happiness.
"Everyone needs a moment of calm. It could be as simple as going on a solo trip, hiking up a mountain, or chilling at the beach.
"The key is to sit down, have a heart-to-heart with yourself, and confront whatever issues you're dealing with.
"Remember, you can't solve a problem without first acknowledging it.
"Solitude often paves the way for both creativity and self-solution, supported by a strong morale-boosting network," she said.
During her own journey fighting breast cancer, Dr Aiesha confessed that opening up and asking for help was particularly challenging for her. "The second you recognise your problem, the next big step is to seek assistance.
"It was difficult for me because it meant setting my ego aside and accepting my imperfections.
"But, let's get real...most people are more than willing to lend a hand if you just ask.
"So don't let fear hold you back...assistance is often just a question away," she added.
Dr Aiesha credits her resilience and success in overcoming adversity to the supportive people in her life.
"If someone shies away from you when you're struggling, that's a clear sign they're not your tribe.
"Your true circle consists of people who are there to uplift and cheer you on, no matter what.
"I draw my strength from the endless support and positive energy I receive from the people around me.
"It's easy for outsiders to say, 'You seem to be handling things well,' but they don’t see the community lifting me up through their encouraging words, actions, and good intentions.
"I'm surrounded by an incredible support system, and that's the secret sauce to facing life's challenges with both grace and success," she added.
