BATU PAHAT - A 10-year-old boy died after falling into Sungai Lurus, Senggarang, Rengit while fishing yesterday.
Rengit Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) Operations Commander Senior Fire Officer II Mohd Khairul Azmi Ngatman said that the team received an emergency call on the incident at 6.47pm.
He said that a Fire Rescue Tender (FRT) and seven firefighters from BBP Rengit were deployed to the scene.
"As the operation team reached the location, it was found that a boy had fallen into the sea while fishing on a floating bridge in the area.
"The victim was later found stranded on a beach by the public at 9.15pm which was about 200 metre from the location where the victim was reported to have fallen," he shared in a statement today.
The victim's body was handed over to the police for further action and the operation came to an end at around 11pm.
