UAE to provide treatment to 1,000 injured Palestinian children at its hospitals

ISTANBUL - United Arab Emirates President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan said Wednesday that his country will treat some 1,000 injured Palestinian children at its hospitals.

The decision was announced during a phone call between UAE Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed Al-Nahyan and the president of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Mirjana Spoljaric, Anadolu Agency citing the Emirati state news agency WAM reported.

The two sides also stressed the importance of delivering relief and medical aid to civilians in Gaza.

Earlier on Wednesday, the first group of injured Palestinians arrived in Egypt to complete their medical treatment at hospitals in the North Sinai governorate following the opening of the Rafah border crossing for the first time in 25 days amid intense fighting in Gaza.
