SHAH ALAM – A section of the ceiling at Megah Rise Mall collapsed during a heavy downpour, causing injuries to three individuals.
Due to this incident, Megah Rise Mall promptly addressed the situation by releasing a statement on its Facebook page.
The mall management expressed their concern and assured the public that the incident was under investigation, with immediate measures taken to manage and rectify the issue.
"We regret to inform you that the ceiling of the car porch in front of the Megah Rise Mall entrance collapsed during strong winds and heavy downpours this afternoon at approximately 3 pm, resulting in three minor injuries.
"We are currently investigating the cause of the incident and are taking immediate action to manage and address the situation. Our top priority is the safety and well-being of our community,” it said in a statement.

The mall administration will also provide updates as more information becomes available.
In response to questions regarding the mall's operating status, Megah Rise Mall confirmed in the comment section of the post that the mall would remain open, but the affected area has been cordoned off for safety reasons.
The video of the incident was uploaded by Facebook user Fiona Ng, which has since garnered 31,000 views with 117 comments as of 7pm, today.
Facebook user Charles Lim commented: "The ceiling went down. Although I’m not sure if the developer took corners or not (alluding to shortcuts during the development phase), that design obviously is not meant to hold strong winds like this.
"I hope everyone is okay. It must be a very frightening experience. Stay safe,” said Facebook user Norshafa Wati Nordin.
