ALOR SETAR - Angkatan Muda Keadilan (AMK) Kedah has urged the public to stop the accusations against the Prime Minister's wife, Datuk Seri Dr. Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.
This follows a recent picture of Wan Azizah and Sara Netanyahu which went viral online, linking her with the Israeli Prime Minister's wife.
Kedah AMK chief, Dr. Mohammed Taufiq Johari, said the most important concern right now, should be to assist the Palestinian people, who are currently suffering due to Israeli attacks.
He claimed that the social media post that went viral and associated Wan Azizah with Israeli politicians was reckless and needed to be removed, serving as a warning to other users to think twice before spreading misinformation.
"Any topic shared must be evaluated fairly and in a clear and accurate context.
"This is because the accusation was made during a meeting of the wives of leaders from each country at the United Nations General Assembly (UN) in the United States, which has become a tradition to celebrate the spirit of democracy in addition to being friendly and sharing views.
"It happened before the outbreak of unrest in Gaza," he said.
Taufiq who is also the Sungai Petani Member of Parliament emphasised that Kedah AMK condemns such irresponsible acts, not to mention when it involves sensitive matters.
"During the time when the world is mourning the pain of our brothers in Palestine, at a time when world leaders are looking for the best solution, at a time when small children and women are bathed in bullets and blood, let's not take the opportunity to become cheap winners in the turmoil," he said.
He said that the genocide in the Gaza Stripis something that affects all of humanity.
"We must stand together in our humanitarian ideals in response to the horrible act of cruelty committed by the Zionist regime.
"The Unity Government is also firm in opposing the oppression of the people in Gaza in addition to rejecting the establishment of the illegal state of Israel," he said.
Taufiq added that the Prime Minister's firmness on the Palestinian issue is often voiced either among Muslim countries or on the international stage.
"AMK Kedah also requests all levels of society, regardless of religious, racial, and cultural differences, to jointly express solidarity and pray for the well-being of our brothers in Gaza," he added.
