SHAH ALAM - Universiti Tenaga Nasional (Uniten) has announced a full fee sponsorship for new students from Palestine.
Its Vice-Chancellor Professor Datuk Seri Dr Noor Azuan Abu Osman said this sponsorship applies to all university study programmes.
"This gesture demonstrates Uniten's concern and solidarity towards the humanitarian challenges in Palestine.
"Assisting students in realising their educational aspirations is a pivotal way to unearth viable solutions.
"I firmly believe that progress in education can pave the way for a brighter future in Palestine.
"Personally, I am confident that success in this field will develop and liberate the land of Palestine later," he said in a statement today.
The ongoing Israeli colonisation of Palestine, which has spanned decades, came back into global focus on Oct 7.
The occupation has tragically resulted in the loss of numerous lives and significant property damage.
Malaysia, a staunch supporter of the Palestinian cause since its onset, witnessed a gathering of 16,000 individuals from diverse backgrounds, convened under Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on Tuesday to denounce the Israeli regime's aggression.
Noor Azuan also added that Uniten is actively collaborating with government-approved humanitarian agencies to channel aid to Palestine and is in liaison with the government to seek a constructive resolution to the ongoing colonisation.
