ROMPIN - A man who was on his way to drop off his child to kindergarten was killed in an accident after the car he was driving skidded and plunged into a ravine at Jalan Barat, Felda Keratong 4, Muadzam Shah, here.
In the incident at about 9am, the victim identified as Muhamad Rizaidil Benjamin, 30, who worked as a delivery driver died after suffering serious injuries on the head and face while his six-year old child suffered bruises on the head.
Rompin district police chief Deputy Superintendent Mohd Azahari Mukhtar said initial investigations revealed that the victim was driving a Proton Wira car from his home in Felda Keratong 4 to Kampung Rekoh Baru to drop off his child at the kindergarten.
"When he reached the scene, the victim's car skidded to the right side of the road and fell into a ravine approximately 10 metres deep.
"As a result of the accident, the victim died at the scene and his child was rushed to the Muadzam Shah Hospital for treatment," he said when contacted, today.
He said the accident was a result of the victim's negligence and said to have lost control of the car which led to the fatal crash.
"Further investigations are being carried out under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987," he added.
