KUALA LUMPUR - Guidelines on speeches made during peaceful assemblies or gatherings and commercialisation and innovation (C&I) strategies in public service delivery are among the issues to be discussed at today's Dewan Rakyat sitting.
According to the Order Paper on the offocial Parliament's website, Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal (PN-Machang) will ask the Minister of Home Affairs to state whether the Government has issued any guidelines regarding what can and cannot be said in a peaceful demonstration.
The matter will be raised by Wan Ahmad Fayhsal during the Minister’s Question Time.
R.Yuneswaran (PH-Segamat), meanwhile, will ask the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation regarding the C&I strategies that will support Malaysia to be among the top 30 countries in the Global Innovation Index by 2025.
Muhammad Islahuddin Abas (PN-Mersing) will ask the Minister of Youth and Sports whether the high-quality Zeon Zoysia grass will be used in stadiums besides the Bukit Jalil National Stadium.
Meanwhile, during the question and answer session, Jamaludin Yahya (PN-Pasir Salak) urged the Prime Minister to clarify if the special financial assistance provided to send pilgrims from the B40, M40 and T20 groups to perform the Haj in 2023 would be continued next year.
Rodziah Ismail (PH-Ampang) wanted to know from the Minister of Communications and Digital if there was a policy to permanently delete handphone numbers that are being currently recycled, to ensure the safety and concern of postpaid and prepaid customers.
Today’s session will also continue the debate on the Budget 2024 which enters the second week, after it was tabled by Prime Minister Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on Oct 13.
Based on the Dewan Rakyat calendar, the 2024 Supply Bill would be debated at the policy level for eight days before the ministers start answering from Oct 30 onwards.
Members of Parliament will take part in the debate at the committee level for 12 days starting Nov 6.
The Dewan Rakyat is in session for 32 days from Oct 9 to Nov 30. - BERNAMA
