SHAH ALAM - Pas vice-president cautions Umno that DAP is untrustworthy and is just using them for their own political expediency.
Datuk Idris Ahmad said DAP would only support Umno for their own interests.
"DAP would only support Umno until they get what they want," he said during his speech at the 69th Pas Muktamar's Ceramah Perdana.
Idris added that Pas has clear references to Islamic principles as Pas has remained steadfast in its commitment to Islamic values.
"Our party's policy has not changed at all and our leadership style has been consistent since its inception.
"Pas has always been known for its strong ties to the traditional and nationalistic aspects of Islam, both in terms of leadership and ideology, he said.
He also said despite facing challenges, Pas has remained evergreen and resilient.
"We have weathered various storms and false allegations.
"Our belief in the strength of our Islamic principles has carried us forward," he said.
Commenting further, he stressed the Pas' commitment was to promote unity among Malaysians.
He added that Pas aimed to strengthen the Malay community, which, in turn, would create an environment where non-Muslims can live in harmony and peace.
"We want the Malays to be stronger and when we are stronger, non-Muslims will also thrive alongside us.
"We aim to create a stable and united environment for all Malaysians," he said.
He added that Pas' unwavering dedication to Islamic principles extends to national unity with non-Muslims as well."
"We will continue to stand strong and work for non-Muslims, Chinese and others as well," he said.
