Seven facts of Zionist regime's extreme cruelty

SHAH ALAM - Ever since Hamas’s operations against Israel on Oct 7, the situation in Gaza has only become worse than ever to the point that there is hardly anywhere safe for Palestinians to live.

It further escalated when Israel recently launched an airstrike that killed at least 500 Palestinians at a hospital that was sheltering thousands in northern Gaza.

The attack was considered by far the worst since the Zionist's endless bombardments had been carried out towards densely populated regions in retaliation against Hamas.

While the Israelis had showcased its horrendous true colour, Sinar Premium listed seven facts of the well-funded and highly sophisticated, yet inhumane military's cruelty towards the people of Palestine:

1. Using white phosphorus bombs prohibited under the 1980 Geneva Convention.

A viral video showed Israel allegedly attacking Gaza's western port area with white phosphorus bombs that could cause suffocation according to Palestinian medical sources.

White phosphorus which is commonly used as a fiery weapon's smoke, lighting and bullet is also capable of causing immediate injury to the lungs, heart, liver and kidneys as well as burning human skin and muscle.

Based on Human Rights Watch report, Israel had extensively used white phosphorus bullets in a 22-day military operation in Gaza called Operation Cast Lead from Dec 27, 2008 to Jan 18, 2009.

2. The Palestinians were warned to evacuate in 24 hours but were bombed earlier

On Oct 13, Israel warned Gazans to move to the south within 24 hours.

About 1.1 million Palestinians reportedly started travelling by foot as well as vehicles following the warning. Prior to that, they had been the target of airstrikes and victims of electricity, water and food supply restrictions for days.

Unfortunately, the ones who obeyed the order ended up being bombed by the Zionist regime in the middle of evacuating.

3. 115 attacks on Gaza health facilities in four days

Up until last Saturday, the World Health Organisation (WHO) recorded 115 attacks by the Israeli Zionist regime on health facilities alone.

51 of them were in Gaza which resulted in 15 health workers on duty being murdered while 27 were injured and 24 health facilities were left completely damaged and unable to operate.

As of Oct 17, 37 health workers had been confirmed dead according to the Palestinian ambassador to Malaysia Walid Abu Ali.

4. 937 Palestinian children murdered in a single week

A total of 937 children had been killed within a week of the recent Israeli atrocious attacks.

A Palestinian organisation in Jakarta Yayasan Persahabatan dan Studi Peradaban (YPSP) Ahed Abu Al-Atta said that Israel had destroyed 144 educational institutions including universities, schools and kindergartens.

Last year, the United Nations (UN) claimed that Israeli forces had sinfully taken away the lives of 42 Palestinian children most of which were shot with live ammunition.

5. Naval siege and blockade on Gaza for 16 years

Over two million Palestinians were trapped in Gaza under Israeli naval brutal 16-year-long siege and blockade.

They cannot move freely to seek medical care, go to school or visit family and friends.

Gaza's economy had also been destructed by Israeli never-ending military attacks that had gotten rid of numerous Gazan public infrastructures.

As a result, Palestinians suffered from a constant lack of basic necessities supply.

6. Construction of the Separation Wall between Jerusalem and al-Aqsa Mosque

Since 2002, Israel had built an enclosure known as the Separation Wall in Palestine's West Bank.

The wall had encircled the West Bank preventing Palestinians living in Jerusalem from visiting the Al-Aqsa Mosque and had taken away the rights and lives of 210,000 citizens who resided across 67 villages, towns and cities.

It was made up of cement, barbed wire, electric fences, ditches, sand, electronic movement detectors, control towers manned by armed guards and a road for security purposes.

The construction cost US$ 1 million per kilometre with a total of more than 700 kilometre in length.

Truth be told, it was essentially a prison and as the wall had been completely built, the Palestinians in the West Bank would lose over half of their land.

7. 97 per cent of Palestine's water supply is not clean

Based on the Water Statistics report in Palestine issued by the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics in 2019, more than 97 per cent of the water supplied by the Israeli regime to the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip did not meet the water quality standards set by the WHO.

Since 1967, Palestinians were denied access to extract water from the Jordan River.

Overall, the per capita daily clean water supply needed by Palestinians was 88.3 cubic litre with the West Bank and Gaza Strip having the same usage tariff in 2017.

In other words, the average water consumption per capita by the Palestinian population actually only made up 55 per cent of the daily consumption standard suggested by WHO.
