KUALA LUMPUR - In the name of solidarity, Malaysians from all walks of life today gathered at the National Mosque grounds here, to express their condemnation of Israel’s continuous oppression and domination against the Palestinian people in their homeland.
The rally held after Friday prayers was attended by over 1,000 people, including leaders of political parties, both from the government and the opposition bloc.
Among them were Amanah president Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu, Bersatu president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, Umno Youth chief Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh and DAP Socialist Youth (DAPSY) chief Dr Kelvin Yii Lee Wuen.
Also present was former prime mininster Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
Similar rallies were held in the federal capital at the compounds of Lembaga Tabung Haji Mosque, Kampung Baru Jamek Mosque, the Palestine Embassy in Taman U-Thant and Sultan Ahmad Shah Mosque at the International Islamic University of Malaysia. - BERNAMA
