MOSCOW - The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is concerned about possible nuclear risks in the ongoing escalation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, as if a nuclear facility is hit, it will have an effect of a dirty bomb, Mikhail Chudakov, the IAEA deputy director-general and head of the department of nuclear energy, told Sputnik on Wednesday.

"This is 100 per cent worrying... There is nothing good. Naturally, when nuclear facilities come under fire, there are big risks for a dirty bomb.

"It is enough for a shell to hit a dry fuel storage facility," Chudakov said on the sidelines of the Russian Energy Week, when asked if the IAEA has concerns about nuclear risks in the context of the Palestinian-Israeli escalation. - BERNAMA-SPUTNIK
