BENTONG - Newly minted Barisan Nasional (BN) Pelangai state assemblyman Datuk Amizar Abu Adam has unveiled plans to create a "Pelangai Gateway" mini township to boost the local economy.
Amizar said the township would take advantage of Pelangai's strategic location as the gateway between Negeri Sembilan and Pahang.
"In Pelangai, we have three segments: Felda, traditional villages, and cultural diversity.
"Therefore, the economic factor is crucial to ensure that many young people do not need to leave," he said.
He said the Pelangai Gateway would provide space and opportunities for young people to gain employment and increase economic activity for all residents.
Amizar also said he would assess other urgent needs in the constituency, such as providing recreational activities for young people in Felda Chemomoi.
Amizar won the Pelangai by-election yesterday, securing 7,324 votes against Perikatan Nasional's (PN) Kasim Samat who garnered 4,375 votes.
