KUALA LUMPUR - OldTown White Coffee swept the 2023 Best Franchise Award at the 25th Malaysian Franchise Awards (AFM).
The company also won the Best International Franchise System of the Year and Best Franchise Governance awards.
OldTown CEO Dawn Liew thanked the company's workers, franchisees, and customers for the victory.
"Our franchisees spend generations where some of them passed the shop to their children, so this is a very sustainable franchise.
"Our success goes to the franchisee, customers, and workers," she told reporters after today's awards ceremony held at Royale Chulan Hotel.
Liew also pledged that the franchise will continue providing its best service by serving everyone the best cup of coffee.
"The future is very bright for coffee because Malaysia has many coffee lovers, especially after the pandemic, which is great because that is what we want to do.
"We want to serve a great cup of coffee to all Malaysians and the world to enjoy," she said.
The ceremony also saw the Special Loyalty Award award to several franchises that have been members of the MFA for the past 26 to 29 years.
The awards were presented to Wan Chan Consolidate Sdn Bhd (Wah Chan), Roaster Asia Pacific (M) Sdn Bhd (Kenny Rogers Roasters), Food Discoveries (M) Sdn Bhd (Dave's Deli), Q-Dees Worldwide Edusystem (M) Sdn Bhd, and The Wet World Sdn Bhd.
The awards and trophies were presented by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who also officiated the event.
OldTown White Coffee is manufactured in Ipoh, the same town where the Hainanese concocted this delicious beverage in the 1930s.
Today, OldTown is exported to more than 20 countries worldwide, sharing this Malaysian cultural heritage internationally.
Aside from White Coffee, OldTown continues to introduce new offerings that magnify the Asian craft and tradition in both food and drink.
