KUALA LUMPUR - Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has urged the Domestic Trade and Costs of Living Ministry (KPDN) to develop a national franchise policy.
Speaking at the Malaysia Franchise Award 2023 (MFA), Zahid said the franchise industry needed a new direction to achieve its target of RM500 billion turnover by 2030.
"I am confident that this goal can be achieved if all parties are committed to it," he said.
Zahid also called for the industry to expand its reach to both domestic and international markets.
"We can do this by participating in domestic exhibitions and expanding our franchises abroad
"Many local products have made a name for themselves at the international level, and the government is committed to helping them succeed," he added.
