BENTONG - Opposition leader Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin says as soon as he reached Pelangai, he asked for a Panadol due to the winding road on the way to the area.
The Perikatan Nasional (PN) secretary-general said it was his first time going to Pelangai and he could not bear with the road condition.
"I came here to see what the village in Pelangai village looks like, I have never been here before. I was from Karak to Chemomoi, it turns out to be difficult to come here.
"My first question to Saifuddin was, do you have a Panadol? He asked why I needed one... Because the winding road was unbearable, I said.
"I think all the shops in Pelangai sold Panadols as it can make you feel a little better," he said.
He said this during the 'Pelangai Sedia Berubah' ceramah perdana at Dataran Purnama near Simpang Pelangai here yesterday.
In another development, Hamzah, who is also Larut MP, expressed his disappointment seeing Malaysians lining up to buy rice.
"Since independence until today, Malaysians have never had to line up to buy rice. What has happened?
"My fellow colleagues and I have brought up this issue to the Parliament and informed the Prime Minister that there is no rice in the country. Until today, there is no rice by the Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (Fama), supposedly to help the people," he added.
Hamzah also urged the ministers involved to think about helping to solve the problems faced by the people.
"I was once the Domestic Trade, Cooperative and Consumer Affairs Minister and I sold basic necessities at low prices to the entire country.
"We can do it differently, let the ministers think a little. Don't just sing, talk, dance. As Prime Minister, you should help the people, solve problems.
"If you can't, give us the opportunity to determine a better future for the people," Hamzah said.
