BENTONG - Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail denies that there are Barisan Nasional (BN) assemblymen who will hop parties to join Perikatan Nasional (PN) if the party wins in the Pelangai state by-election.
He said it was a slander created by the opponents to sway voters in the state constituency.
"I just received a message today from all BN and PH (Pakatan Harapan) assemblymen as well as excos expressing strong support for me. How did this come about?
"So that is their attempt to create sentiments for Pelangai voters to believe which actually did not happen. It is slander that there are those who will hop parties," he said.
Rosdy said this at the Pahang Makmur Sale tour at Dewan Serbaguna Kampung Chemomoi today.
Previously, there was a poster suggesting that Pas deputy president Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man will be appointed as Pahang Menteri Besar and if PN won in the Pelangai state by-election, it would seize Pahang through the roof and back door.
There was also a rumour that four BN assemblymen will party-hop to join PN.
Rosdy added that the situation showed that their opponents were willing to do anything as far as making things up to create perceptions.
"Alhamdulillah, I am grateful to all the assemblymen who fully support me.
"This is because they know that PN would mess around with these kinds of issues so that voters in Pelangai would change their support," he added.
Meanwhile, Rosdy described the momentum and attendance of voters as improving, but will constantly intensify preparations which included door-to-door campaigns besides holding the ceramah.
