SHAH ALAM - Pas deputy president Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man has denied the claims of certain quarters accusing Pas of issuing orders not to contest the top five posts in the party.
Tuan Ibrahim said Pas had never stopped any candidates from any area from holding the posts in the party.
"When I was officiating the general meeting in several areas, I requested that they (party members) nominate other individuals for the deputy president post.
"The post was a trust that must be carried if chosen. Thanks to the cooperation of everyone, insya-Allah, this congregation will continue to be blessed by Allah,” he said in a Facebook post on Sunday.
On Sept 29, Sinar reported there would be no contest for the top five posts in Pas at the 69th Annual Assembly, or Muktamar, scheduled to take place on Oct 20.
Its secretary-general, Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan, said the top five were the president, deputy president, and three vice president posts.
