SHAH ALAM - Prominent social media personality and entrepreneur Marion Caunter shares her once-in-a-lifetime experience visiting the largest of the great apes, gorillas.
In an Instagram post, Marion expressed having had a wonderful experience with her husband, where they took the gorilla trekking package at Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda.
Marion not only witnessed the gorilla family, but she also had a whole hour to spend with the apes.
"We did it. After about an hour of hiking, we finally found the gorilla.
"We were allowed to spend one hour with them before we made our way back down," she said in her latest entry on the social media site.
Marion further described the trip as an 'emotional and humbling experience'.
"From the moment I laid eyes on the first gorilla, I was so overcome with emotions that I can’t even begin to describe the feeling.
"After taking some pictures and videos, we just stayed there and watched them in their home. The Susa family of gorillas.
"One of the most incredible and humbling experiences of our lives," she said.
Volcanoes National Park is the only possible destinations for Mountain gorilla trekking expeditions in Rwanda.
It is said that there are around 1,000 of these animals left in the wild.
