Cat freed by firemen after getting stuck in a sink

SHAH ALAM - The Selangor Fire and Rescue Department conducted a very unusual rescue operation when they came to the aid of a cat whose leg was stuck in a bathroom sink at Taman Regency Park here on Thursday.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department operations assistant director Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said the distress call was made by the owner of the cat at 4.20pm.

"Upon arriving at the scene, the Operation Commander conducted a size-up and found that the cat's leg was stuck in a sink.

"By using special equipment to open up the sink, the officers managed to free the cat," he said in a statement earlier.

Ahmad Mukhlis said the cat was then handed over to its owner.
