SHAH ALAM - Smoking and vaping are not limited to just teachers; even people in the Dewan Rakyat also smoke and vape, says Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek.
"However, if there are any allegations of such behaviour pertaining to teachers, there is a process in place to address them.
"We have a process in the event of any allegations or claims for such behaviour, and it also must be done with complaints. Further action will be taken as it has a negative impact on the school ecosystem,” she said.
Fadhlina said this in response to Senator Datuk Mohd Hisamudin Yahaya's statement that the Education Ministry's campaign is only focused on students to discourage them from vaping.
"What about teachers who are vaping in front of students? Do we need another campaign to address teachers vaping in front of students?
"It will be a challenge for the Education Ministry to educate the students when the teachers themselves are engaged in such behaviour,” he said.
