"Whether to appeal within this 14-day period, it will depend on the leadership's decision and any decision we receive," he said.

Today, the Terengganu Election Court nullified the victory of Kemaman Member of Parliament Che Alias Hamid, who represented Pas in the 15th General Election (GE15).

The decision was made by Election Judge Datuk Anselm Charles Fernandis after finding evidence of bribery to voters during the election campaign for the parliamentary seat.

On Jan 3, former Terengganu Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Ahmad Said, stated that they had filed a petition asking the court to annul the GE15 results for the Marang, Kemaman, and Kuala Terengganu parliamentary constituencies.

According to Ahmad, the petition was filed in the Kuala Terengganu High Court due to alleged widespread money distribution in all three constituencies.

However, on Feb 12, the Terengganu Election Court dismissed the petition filed by BN and upheld the victory of Pas candidate Che Alias Hamid in the Kemaman parliamentary constituency in GE15.

Judge Datuk Mohamad Abazafree Mohd Abas made this decision after agreeing with the initial objection by the Kemaman Member of Parliament against the petition for the constituency.

However, on May 2, the Federal Court ordered the election petition filed to challenge the GE15 results for the Kemaman parliamentary constituency to be returned to the High Court for a full trial.

A three-judge panel led by Chief Justice Tun Tengku Maimun Tuan Mat allowed the appeal filed by BN and voters from the Kemaman constituency for the court to hear a full trial of the petition.

Ahmad lost in a four-cornered contest in the Kemaman parliamentary constituency in the 15th General Election.

Ahmad who is also the Chairman of the Umno Terengganu Liaison Body, lost to Che Alias Hamid with a majority of 27,179 votes.

Che Alias, received 65,714 votes, while Ahmad received 38,535 votes.

The other two challengers, Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidate, Hasuni Sudin, received 8,340 votes, while Rosli Ab Ghani from Pejuang received 506 votes.
