Lack of border passes issue resolved

TUMPAT - The issue of border pass shortages especially in Kelantan, Perlis, Kedah, and parts of Perak, has been resolved since last week.

Immigration director general Datuk Ruslin Jusoh said the extra passes has already arrived in the respective states, and there will no longer be delays or shortages in supply.

He said his department will address the issue promptly if a similar situation arises in the future.

"Alhamdulillah, everything has been resolved, and the passes have been delivered to the concerned states," he said.

He said this after participating in a working visit programme at the ICQS Complex in Pengkalan Kubor today.

Meanwhile, when asked whether the Immigration Department only allows border passes to be issued at one location for each state, Ruslin explained that this matter is still under study and consideration.

"We are still in the process of studying and collecting data before making operational changes and so on.

"Our department will also identify whether the same individuals apply for border passes and how many times a year, as well as other relevant factors," he said.
