BUKIT MERTAJAM - Police arrested three men for fighting in front of a temple in Alma here, while people were performing a religious ceremony last Sunday.
Seberang Perai Tengah district police chief Assistant Commissioner Tan Cheng San said the three suspects, aged between 21 and 25, were arrested by police who were on duty in the temple area.
Tan said the men fought each other with their hands and chairs at 12.05am.
"At the time, there were many people at the temple for a religious ceremony," he said in a statement today.
He explained that two videos, lasting 14 and 27 seconds, were uploaded by a Twitter user and went viral yesterday.
Tan said the three suspects were remanded for four days until Wednesday.
The cause of the fight is still under investigation. The case is being investigated under Section 160 of the Penal Code, which covers the offense of affray. - AWANI
