JOHOR BAHRU - Kluang Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has arrested a school principal and head administrative assistant on suspicion of conspiring to solicit and accept bribes of over RM17,000.
According to sources, the 53-year-old male and 50-year-old female suspects were arrested at the Kluang MACC office at approximately 7pm today after testifying.
The suspects had allegedly asked for and accepted the graft from a contractor in return for providing fence maintenance work at the school dormitory to the contractor's company last January.
Meanwhile, Johor MACC director Datuk Azmi Alias had confirmed the arrest and said that the case is investigated under Section 17 (a) of the MACC Act 2009.
Both suspects had then been released on bail.
