PASIR GUDANG - The stance of the Malaysian United Democratic Alliance (Muda) and the decision of its President Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman, not to vacate the Muar Parliamentary seat, must be respected by all parties.

Pasir Gudang Member of Parliament Hassan Abdul Karim said it was Muda's right, and it was up to Syed Saddiq to determine his direction after no longer being with the Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition.

"I also respect the demands of PH Muar, who want Syed Saddiq to vacate the seat; it is their right to voice their opinions," he said in response to PH Muar's call for Syed Saddiq to resign and vacate the Muar Parliamentary seat.

Earlier, Hassan officiated the Malaysia Day Celebration organised by the Small and Medium Entrepreneurs Association of Johor Bahru District at Pasar Borneo Johor here today.

On Wednesday, PH Muar held a special press conference urging Syed Saddiq to vacate the Muar Parliamentary seat to return the mandate to the people for a by-election.

Today, Muar Muda reaffirmed that they would not vacate the seat, and Syed Saddiq would continue to serve as the people's representative.

Meanwhile, Hassan believed that under the leadership of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, the Madani government would fulfil what was stated in the agreement for the establishment of Malaysia, which involved Malaya, Sabah, and Sarawak in 1963.

He said that all requests, appeals, and the needs of the people of Sabah and Sarawak, including the demands in the agreement, would be earnestly fulfilled, whether all at once or in stages.

He made it clear that this would promise a better future for the people of Sabah and Sarawak, as outlined in the agreement when agreeing to establish the nation of Malaysia in the past.
