Popular veteran actor Datuk Rosyam Nor has recently gone viral on social media for his comments about working women, suggesting that they tend to develop a haughty and egoistic nature when they have financial independence.
This discussion surfaced during a clip from a podcast called 'Hitam Putih' with Usanita chief executive officer Datin Adzliana Datuk Seri Dr Hasan, where Rosyam expressed his views on whether women should stay at home, or work.
From his observations, he said many women tend to become more assertive when they have money.
"When women start working and have money, they become arrogant.
"Even though they are wives, they tend to speak in a different manner and tone with their husbands. With money, they become egoistic," said Rosyam.
He highlighted instances where working wives tend to complain about fatigue and that husbands should also bear the brunt of household chores.
Adzliana agreed that there are some career-oriented women who exhibit the behaviour described by Rosyam but countered by emphasising that not all women behave that way.
She also stressed the importance of "give and take" in marriage.
Rosyam reiterated that these observations don't apply to every career-driven woman but rather to some.
The video has generated significant public attention and has sparked various comments and discussions.
Many netizens, especially women, have voiced their agreement with Rosyam's views.
However, there were others who expressed their disagreements and argued that mutual "give and take" is essential in maintaining healthy marital relationships.
