KUALA LUMPUR - Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin urges the government to stop investigations and selected prosecution under the 3R excuse simply to silence the public.
The Pagoh MP said he had been investigated on several different occasions and faced criminal charges only because he voiced Malay and Muslim woes.
Meanwhile, Muhyiddin said leaders in the government bloc who issue malicious statements and fanned the flames of racial sentiments did not have any actions taken towards them.
"As a Malay leader, am I considered a criminal for simply speaking out in the interests of Malays and Muslims?
"Since when did Malay leaders in the nation could no longer voice out on Malay and Muslim interests? The British colonisation has long left our nation.
"But it seems the policies implemented by the government today are far worse than the colonisers," he said.
He said such when debating the Half Term Review (KSP) of the 12th Malaysia Plan (RMK12) in Dewan Rakyat on Wednesday.
Before ending the debate, Muhyiddin said he prayed for Malaysia to stay peaceful, developed and prosperous with its multi racial population living in peace and harmony. - AWANI
