KUALA LUMPUR - Malaysia's wholesale and retail trade sales value reached 139.8 billion ringgit (29.9 billion U.S. dollars) in July, an increase of 7.2 per cent year-on-year, official data showed Monday.
For month-on-month comparison, the sales value grew 0.9 per cent, the Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM) said in a statement.
The year-on-year increase was attributed to wholesale trade sub-sector, which rose 5.7 per cent to 63.1 billion ringgit.
Retail trade also expanded 5.5 percent to 59.7 billion ringgit.

This was followed by motor vehicles with an increase of 20.5 per cent to settle at 17 billion ringgit. (1 ringgit equals 0.21 U.S. dollars) - XINHUA
