Pulai, Simpang Jeram's 70 per cent voter turnout target not achieved

JOHOR BAHRU - The voter turnout percentage for the Pulai Parliament and Simpang Jeram State Assembly by-election on Saturday fell short of the anticipated 70 per cent target.

As of 5pm, Pulai parliamentary seat stood at a staggering 45 per cent, while Simpang Jeram state seat obtained a 59 per cent turnout.

Voting day concluded with all 61 polling centres in both Pulai and Simpang Jeram officially closing its doors at 6pm.

According to data from the Election Commission, a total of 166,653 eligible voters were registered for Pulai and 40,379 eligible voters were registered at the Simpang Jeram state seat for the by-election.
