MUAR - Voting day for the Simpang Jeram state by-election on Saturday may be one of the most significant days in the life of voter Nga Kor Siang, who is 40 years old.
Nga became the first to cast his vote at the polling centre at SJK(C) Pei Chai, Bakri.
"Yes, I feel happy and excited to be the first to vote today.
"I arrived here as early as 7am because I didn't want to be late; it can be troublesome.
"Now that I've finished voting, I can get back to doing my work," he told Sinar.
Nga also said there was not a single election that he missed and had been voting since he was registered as a voter almost 20 years ago.
However, today he said it was the first time that he became the first voter to cast his vote.
"I have never missed casting my vote, but today, I can't believe I was the first one to do so," he said.
