PUCHONG - Five individuals were arrested following the case of a man suspected of being murdered.
His body had been found in a car at Batu 14, here last Wednesday.
Subang Jaya District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Wan Azlan Wan Mamat said the police department received information about the discovery of victim's body at about 12.55am.
He said the body was found in a locked car on the side of the road.
"The body was found in the back seat of the car and covered with a jacket.
"Upon further investigation found that this case is related to a Bukit Jalil conviction police report 8063/23 which was investigated under Section 365 of the Penal Code," he said in a statement on Friday.
He said, an investigation paper was then opened under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
"The result of the information then led to the arrest of five local men aged between 27 and 33 who were then remanded for four days for further investigation.
"Checks found that all the suspects have past criminal records," he said.
Last Wednesday, Sinar reported that the 26-year-old victim was believed to have been run over by a group of men (believed to be his friends) when he was in the area of the People's Housing Project (PPR) in Kampung Muhibbah, here on Sunday.
Kuala Lumpur Police Chief Datuk Allaudeen Abdul Majid said, the victim's father then lodged a police report at the Bukit Jalil Police Station, here, at 5am, Monday.
"The victim's father found out about his son being run over after being informed by his son's girlfriend," he said.
