SHAH ALAM - Former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad claimed that the dissemination of two false documents regarding a pressure order against Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and of him sending a letter to Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Bara was part of a cowardly leader's propaganda.

According to him, the strategy had been carried out since the late 90s and it is an irresponsible act by certain parties.

He said that the act was an anonymous propaganda and an act of 'throwing stones and hiding hands' of cowardly folks.

"These two fake documents have been used since the late 1990s to defend a leader who has abused his power and has moral problems.

"This document has been recycled and shared by social media users by anonymous accounts," he wrote on Facebook today.

Recently, a 23-minute-33-second video had gone viral depicting a statesman who allegedly sent a letter to the Israeli Prime Minister to request financial assistance for an election.

Commenting further, Mahathir said that if it was true, it should be reported openly and not hidden behind fake social media accounts using pseudonyms.

He said that there are individuals who would reveal his misconducts when he was a leader, but up until now, no evidence had been presented by anybody.

He also claimed that the effort aimed to divert the public's attention and reveal that the reform agenda was only a slogan and not a principle.

"It's just a fake document issued by cybertroopers and welcomed by bigoted supporters.

"If this document is true, why is it necessary to spread it through social media and use fake accounts? Report to the authorities if it is authentic.

"Enough lying and start telling the truth," he stressed.
