KUALA LUMPUR - The police received two reports against the former prime minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin over his haram fatwa remarks towards voting for the Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidate in the Pulai parliamentary by-election.
Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department (JSJ) director Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain said that an investigation has been carried out after receiving the reports.
Yesterday, the Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain, reportedly said that the police had opened investigation papers against Muhyiddin.
The investigation was carried out in accordance with Section 505(b) of the Penal Code for making statements that sparked public fear and panic, as well as Section 233 of the Multimedia Communications Act of 1998.
