KUALA LUMPUR - Police have seized and confiscated a portion of assets linked to the misappropriation of the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) funds registered in the name of a former attorney of an investment firm, Jasmine Loo Ai Swan.
Police Deputy Inspector-General, Datuk Seri Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay elaborated that these assets include properties, bank accounts, paintings, luxury handbags, watches, and related documents estimated to be worth RM93.2 million, which is their current value from when the purchases were made in 2013.
"All of these were obtained through Jasmine Loo's disclosure while providing statements to the Commercial Crime Investigation Department (JSJK)," he said during a press conference at Bukit Aman on Monday.
Ayob Khan added that these assets involved the acquisition of real estate and luxury items in New York, London, and Singapore, as well as investments in the United States, all registered under Jasmine's name.
"In addition to these luxury residences, there are also nine luxury paintings, including two by Pablo Picasso," he said.
