KUALA LUMPUR - The country's leading men's single Lee Zii Jia says he is not taking his current drop in world rank lightly.
The latest update from the Badminton World Federation (BWF) saw Zii Jia's world rank went down one spot to 14th.
For Zii Jia, defeat after defeat was painful enough to go through, including when he was defeated in the 16th round of the World Badminton Championship in Copenhagen, Denmark last week.
However, he did not take the circumstance lightly and always tried to get back to his best performance.
"I don't have any formula to get out of this situation," he told Astro Arena reporter Fina Nasrom.
"I'm no Superman, I'm not Ironman, I can't change overnight.
"I am doing everything I can with my team. I have a coach and everyone who is helping me to get back to my best form," he said.
Commenting on his loss to the host player Anders Antonsen in the 16th round of the World Championship, Zii Jia said that his coach Wong Tat Meng urged him to be patient through the process.
"He advised me the same thing because he knew what I was going through with this kind of situation.
"He wants me to be patient because I don't like to lose. No one knows how angry I am when I lose, but he told me to be patient.
"He said it's easy to talk but to go through this process is really difficult," he said. - AWANI
