SHAH ALAM – Hailing Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor as a warlord is a sign of extreme obsession.

Umno Supreme Council member Datuk Mohd Puad Zarkashi said that the leader of Perikatan Nasional (PN) was still being supported despite the rare earth theft case in Kedah.

"Is Sanusi a great leader? Can a leader knock people's heads with paper?

"He was praised as a warlord even though the rare earth was stolen. That's a god-level extreme obsession.

"Actually, Malaysia is dealing with extreme bigotry politics. Umno is a victim of this epidemic," he said in a Facebook post, today.

He also commented on Ilham Centre's study which suggested 10 steps to rehabilitate Umno which suffered a severe defeat in the state election (PRN) on Aug 12.

Research Fellow of the research centre, Mujibu Abd Muis said the main step that needed to be taken was to solve the problem of prominence crushing Umno.

Puad explained that Umno did not deny that the support of the people and the Malays had declined. The party, he said, was aware of it and accepted the situation.

"There is no question of denial syndrome but there are some parties including Ilham Centre only focused on certain reasons in making the analysis.

"Their focus is that Zahid (Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi) must resign. Umno needs a new leader.

"But Ilham Centre does not dare to commit the problems will be solved if Zahid resigns. According to Ilham, Umno needs total change. They did not specify what changes?," he asked.

Puad said not only Umno but the country would also be threatened as long as the politics of extreme bigotry did not change.

Because of that, he said, there was a gap in the Ilham Centre's analysis.

"Regressive politics, which is preachers who like to punish, go back to the political thinking of the Malay community. It's troubling," he added.
