KUALA LUMPUR - A director of a plastic factory was injured in a fire involving two factories in Kepong, here, today.
City Fire and Rescue Department deputy director Rozihan Anwar Mamat said the 45-year-old man suffered 10 per cent burns on both his wrists as a result of the fire.
"The victim has been sent to Selayang Hospital for further treatment," he said in a press conference at the scene.
Rozihan said the department received an emergency call regarding the incident at 10.13am.
"A total of 50 firemen and officers together with eight fire engines from the Jinjang, Gombak Selatan, Sri Hartamas, Wangsa Maju, Hang Tuah and Selayang fire stations were deployed to the location," he said.
He added that a motorcycle parts factory was 100 per cent destroyed, while the plastic factory was 20 per cent destroyed.
"The fire was successfully controlled from spreading to the adjacent factory building at 12.36pm and the cause of the fire is still under investigation," he said.
