"We are aiming to become the champion of Sukma, which will be held in Sarawak next year. The last time we became Sukma champions was also in Sarawak in 2016.

"This is one of our main focuses and I've received a briefing from NSC executive director (Mohamad Nizam Marjugi) regarding the preparation of the Selangor contingent to face the sporting event.

Regarding the new portfolio he now held, Najwan said he will explore new potentials that can be implemented in the management of the youth and sports portfolio in the state.

"We are aware that the basic core of this portfolio is sports and youth development and at this time, the challenge is somewhat different because when we mention youth, it's not necessarily just about sports.

"This is because youth encompasses many aspects such as careers, education, and economics, and these are some of the aspects we will explore together with the Selangor MSN team and the state government.

"Give us some time and we will see some requirements in a little while," he added.
