MUAR - Victory in the Pulai parliamentary by-election and the Simpang Jeram state legislative assembly will serve as evidence of the spread of the Perikatan Nasional (PN) wave in Johor.

PN's Election Campaign Director Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor said this stretch would also indicate the people's uprising, particularly based on PN's excellent performance in the recent state elections.

"The PN wave has reached the southern part of the country. This wave has reached Johor... it entered through Muar and will reach Johor Bahru... if Singapore were to have an election, we would participate in that too.

"The aura of victory that will occur in Simpang Jeram and Pulai will be a determinant signal of the people's resurgence in this state.

"However, what's important is that the people need to stop the greed of the Unity Government towards the people of this country," he said.

Sanusi made these remarks while speaking at the Launching Ceremony of the Machinery and Declaration of PN Candidates for the Pulai parliamentary and Simpang Jeram state assembly by-election at the Pas Bakri Headquarters on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the PN Johor Chairman Datuk Dr Shahrudin Jamal said that research results indicated that over 80 per cent of Malays and around five percent (non-Malays) provided support to PN in the recent state elections.

Furthermore, he mentioned that PN's victory is the result of hard work from all machinery, whether from Johor or fellow comrades nationwide.

"Therefore, we must work hard regardless of the time, whether day or night, by exerting efforts to engage with about 40,379 registered voters closely," he said.
