KOTA KINABALU - People are currently tired of politics and they want the government to focus on economic recovery and national development fully.
Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah (PBRS) President Datuk Arthur Joseph Kurup said that the country is now in a new political landscape through the formation of the Unity government.
"I believe that the majority of the people are now tired of politics and they strongly want the state government to focus on economic recovery and national development.
"As the President of PBRS, I want to direct my attention to the tasks at hand and remind our members that now is the time to demonstrate our value to the people," he said to reporters after an engagement session with media practitioners in Sabah last night.
He made these comments when asked to comment on the challenges faced by PBRS within the context of Barisan Nasional (BN) after their involvement in the recent state elections.
Arthur, also the Deputy Minister of Science, Technology, and Innovation, mentioned that anything can happen in politics.
"The state elections is coming to Sabah even if it may be nearly two years away. We've seen the current political situation; anything can happen, so any predictions we make now might change in a short time," he said.
